Over the past year and a half, as mom battled cancer, from the moment of her diagnosis, she fully trusted in God’s providence and faithfulness.  Even as her body weakened, she looked forward to the glory that awaited her in heaven, to be with her Savior in perfect peace. If anything, out of all of us, Mom was the most at peace with her circumstances, faced with the possibility of death.

Jan was so very, very good to me. She gave of herself fully—to be the best wife, mother, and grandmother. I will miss her deeply. But I am grateful for the life we shared, for the love she poured into all of us, and for the memories that keep her close.

Just a week before Jannie passed, a dear sister visited and asked if there was a Bible verse that brought her comfort. Without hesitation, Jannie shared Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” That was my friend. She trusted her Creator completely. She knew God was good.
